It has really been quite a year for our boy. Let's see, in the last year, he successfully started and completed his first year of school. He welcomed home his big brother. He began learning to speak French. He mastered swimming in the"deep end," performing various stunts off the diving board, and diving for all kinds of sinking objects. He's become push-up king in our house. He has learned to ride a bike with no training wheels.
Ethan continues to be our sensitive, insightful child. He remembers things incredibly well. He feels things deeply. For example, here's a sample conversation Ethan had with his aunt:
Ethan: (in a moanful voice) My ankle hurts.
Alaina: Which one?
Ethan: (still pathetic) Both of them.
Ethan has also shown more independence (and a bit of impulsivity) in the last year. He is certainly not just a little boy anymore. We are so blessed to have him in our family, and we can't wait to see what else God brings into his life!

That's our E-man! What a precious jewel in our family. Terrific pictures, by the way!
