From One Month to the Next...
This is a picture taken last month on our walk to school. Abby insisted that I get my phone out and take a picture of this tree, because it was "sooo beeee-autiful!"
...And this is a picture that we took on our crunching walk to school today!

Fun and Creativity at the Tappers :)
Abby's latest crafty project is a "Mood Dial" for her bedroom door. You can find directions to make your own here: http://spoonful.com/crafts/mood-dial
We had our first "sticky" snow yesterday. It was fun! The kids enjoyed making snowballs, fashioning snowpeople, diving after the football, and catching snowflakes on their tongues!

Sundays are for Enjoying
I thought I might share some of our enjoyed activities from yesterday.
Together, we enjoyed listening to more of our Narnia radio theatre series...
I enjoyed working on my fabric project--a word mural of "Thank you" in many different languages...(Someday soon, I hope this will hang on our living room wall!)
Andrew enjoyed exploring the world of Christian rap and hip hop videos...
Mike and Abby enjoyed their books...
And these two, well, I'm not sure what you would call it, but they sure did enjoy it...

Halloween
To those who ventured to put forth a suggestion for the "Fifth Annual Tapper Family Pumpkin Carving Guessing Contest, I hereby declare that we had several correct guesses! Here are the results:
Gymnast = Abby
Ship = Andrew (This is the symbol for the Aylmer Minor Hockey Association)
Pirate = Jadon
Rocket Ship = Ethan
Thanks to all who participated. The kids love to see your guesses :)
Of course, the creativity continues. We had a lot of fun putting their costumes together this year. Again, we tried to recycle and create ourselves. I think we spent less than $20 for four costumes (and half of that cost was duct tape!)
Here are a few pics of the crew headed out to collect their treats for the night...
Jadon, the friendly pirate
Ethan, the rocket man
Andrew, the Roman gladiator
Abby, the rainbow
Happy Halloween!

Fifth Annual Tapper Family Pumpkin Carving Guessing Contest
As tradition would have it, we pulled out the old crafting tablecloth, the bowls, the knives, and --of course--the pumpkins for our annual day-before-Halloween carving extravaganza.
For those of you who might not have participated before, here is how this works...
Each Tapper child (Andrew, Ethan, Abby, and Jadon) gets his or her own pumpkin to clean out. They each choose a design for carving. We are now at ages where children are actually involved in the carving process, too (which is both exciting and anxiety-producing at the same time!) At the end of the night, I take pictures of the finished project and put them here so that all of you can take a guess at the Mystery Designers behind each pumpkin.
Let's hear those guesses!!!

Fifteen years married. We've uncovered a lot of faults. Faced hard times. Been thrown a few curveballs. Have known uncountable blessings. Fifteen years ago, we were young and in love and ready to soar together. Today, our love is deeper and richer, and he can still make me soar.
